The cross-disciplinary project Dust of Dreams by the artist Eva Frapiccini explores the languages of visual arts, music, performance, and video art in a multimedia and performative installation presented for the first time in Genoa at the Sala del Munizioniere of Palazzo Ducale (June 3-4-5, 2022) and La Claque (September 24, 2022) and in Turin, at the Polo del '900 spaces (June 14, 2022) as part of the Electropark and Interplay 2022 festivals.

Dust of dreams has been conceived and created by Frapiccini, starting from an audio archive made up of 2300 recordings collected in 13 cities of the world – Turin, Bogotà, Sharjah, Stockholm, Riga, Berlin, Dubai, Bergamo, Fittja, Cairo, Rivoli, Manama in Bahrain and Genoa – from 2011 to 2022 thanks to the participatory project Dreams’ Time Capsule. The capsule in which dreams are gathered has been hosted by many national and international museums such as ArkDes, Swedish Museum of Architecture in Stockholm, Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea, YSP – Yorkshire Sculpture Park, cultural spaces such as kim? Contemporary Art Space in Riga, festivals and educational departments such as Festival Localize Potsdam, the Educational Department of the Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Foundation in Turin, and the Faculty of Design of the Universidad Jorge Taleo Lozano in Bogotà.

The archive is the source of dream narratives whose analysis has led to the recognition of archetypal images that form the background of the sound and visual structure of the multimedia installation.

The audio tracks, coming from the archive, join the music composed by Sara Berts, inspiring the images of Eva Frapiccini and the videos made during the laboratory activities. The flows of icon images stream on the screens behind the movements of the performers Francesca Dibiase, Ilaria Quaglia, and Valerie Tameu, who give body to the work in harmony with the audiovisual dramaturgy. The project also made use of multiple participatory processes that AlbumArte activated with the cities of Turin and Genoa, between March and May 2022, under the artistic direction of Frapiccini, in collaboration with Forevergreen, such as the public dream recording event at the Cortile Maggiore of Palazzo Ducale, the theater tailoring workshop with the Limone Lunare Association, the video workshop lead by the artist with Squeasy Film, held in the spaces of Sala Dogana in collaboration with the Municipality of Genoa, and the two choreography workshops directed by Daniele Ninarello in collaboration with CodedUomo, held in Turin.
